M-DOT Wins DARPA Award for Microturbine Development

2000 - Out of a field of more than 350 Small Business contractors, M-DOT alone wins DARPA's "Outstanding Performance by a Small Business Contractor" award.

 

2002 - M-DOT is selected for and successfully develops a warm-gas-driven fuel turbopump for Boeing's DARPA/ONR HyFly Hypersonic Missile.

2003 - M-DOT Successfully Operates the World's Smallest Gas Turbine Engine with a shaft speed of over 400,000 rpm.

2008 - Fuel-Lubricated Bearings are demonstrated to 294,000 rpm for operation in a tiny turbocharger for UAV heavy-fuel engines.

Our Team and Our History

 

M-DOT was founded in February 1989 by the current President and CEO Bryan Seegers

Bryan SeegersBryan Seegers
Bryan Seegers serves as the M-DOT Chief Scientist and Vice President of Engineering. As one of three owners, he is currently in his 20th year at M-DOT. He has been involved with the design, manufacture, testing, and analysis of turbine engines and their components for twenty-five-plus years. Bryan is responsible for the development of the M-DOT turbomachinery business pursuits and development of engineering proposals.

David ShreinerDavid Shreiner
David Shreiner is our VP of Manufacturing and As one of three owners is currently in his 18th year at M-DOT. David has authored procedures and developed proprietary processes for the manufacture of turbine engine components, turbo-machinery components, exhaust ducting assemblies, potting and molding of silicone rubber seals, and lay-up processing of composite assemblies. He has extensive experience in analysis / resolution of process anomalies, status reporting on projects, and authoring of final reports upon conclusion of projects. David is a key senior manager responsible for Procurement, Facilities, and Program management of major programs.

BJ TaylorBJ Taylor
BJ Taylor is our General Manager and Vice President. As one of the three owners, BJ is in his 14th year at M-DOT. His overall experience consists of thirty-five-plus years of management, engineering and manufacturing of missile systems, aircraft flight hardware and multi-million dollar program management of satellite systems and launch operations. BJ has extensive experience in proposal development and pursuing new business in space applications, telecommunication, and network systems. He is career-trained with expertise in program management and MIL / DOD contract specifications. BJ is responsible for quality control, marketing and business development.

Joanne PowellJoanne Powell
Joanne Powell is our controller and Management Representative for ISO. She comes from a public accounting background and brings with her extensive experience in financial reporting, account analysis, and developing and designing management reports. Her skill in organizing data and processes allows her to handle multiple tasks with ease and efficiency. Joanne is in charge of contract maintenance and as such she works closely with DOD and other customers. Joanne is in her 7th year at M-DOT.

Gloria HargisGloria Hargis
Gloria Hargis is our executive assistant. She has been with M-DOT for 4 years. Gloria performs ISO training for new employees, supports procurement and financial activities. She is the first person you will speak to upon calling M-DOT.

Our manufacturing team always strives to deliver exactly what the customer wants - On Time and at 100% Quality.

In 20 years, we have grown from a small engineering and machine shop occupying 1740 square feet of floor space to a 22,000 square foot combined facility that bostes state-of-the-art HAAS CNC machinery, a complete titanium hot forming facility, assembly facility, grinding and hand finishing and inspection with state of the art CMM.

Development and Demonstration of a 300,000 rpm Fuel- Lubricated Bearing System for Small Turbochargers, Turbojets and Turbine Engines.

Numerous Other Systems including: high speed motors, turbine driven generators, alternators, turboalternators, high-speed bearings, model turbojet engines, flow measurement bellmouths, propellers, supercritical CO2 pumps, Rankine power systesms, Brayton power systems, pulsejets, aircraft engine cowls, aircraft exhaust systems including turboprop exhaust ducts and helicopter exhaust stacks.
